PAR DE

Made in the UK

Par Dé offers locally crafted Fashion and Art collections made by young people who benefit from training, employment and skills acquisition. Our small bespoke collections reflect contemporary thinking, subtle aesthetics and unique art and textile processes that result in sumptuous and unique designs.

Our Story

Par Dé was founded from an inherent desire to promote and encourage the careers and lives of young people within Art and Design in the Hastings and Rother region.

With job prospects at one of the lowest in the British economy*, there is a clear need to develop opportunities for young people to strengthen their skills, confidence and ambition. Par Dé's platform is focused on encouraging these skills within an Art and Design platform that compromises both an in-house internship model that trains young people in design from digital skills, pattern cutting, graphics, photography, illustration, garment construction and retail dimensions, through to publication of freelance work from graduates and young artists to promote their work.

Par Dé is a platform to support the development of young people through specialist design training that bridges industry and education, enabling growth in the local economy whilst strengthening skills in employment, resilience and creativity.

100% Handmade

Our collections are small and limited in their response to student work and fabric sources. We maintain an ethical approach to sourcing all our fabrics from the UK, often originating from vintage and antique suppliers. We hand dye many of our linens and cottons which enable discreet and subtle colour palettes whilst allowing for creative approaches to textile techniques. These processes constructed in-house support zero-waste with remnants utilised through industrious pattern cutting.

For every product produced, the young person receives 30% of the profit in addition to their regular wage. You can meet the current young people involved in the project on the ‘Team’ page. The training and support offered by the Par Dé platform allows for progression within the company as it grows and develops specialist career pathways.
